Väestön muutto maalta kaupunkeihin on tehnyt Sambiasta yhden Afrikan kaupungistunemmista valtioista. Nykyisin yli puolet maan asukkaista asuu kaupungeissa.
Maa on ryhtynyt panostamaan turismiin. Maassa on runsaasti villieläimiä, suuria riistanhoitoalueita ja tietenkin Viktoria-putoukset.
